Mr. Hong, a partner of Hanlaw, is a former chief justice of the Seoul West District Court. He possess abundant experience from handling complex and diverse civil, criminal, commercial and administrative cases and injunctions, gained from 20 years’ experience as a judge in district and high courts.

Mr. Hong obtained a ‘not-guilty’ verdict for the defendants in recent high-profile allegations of embezzlement by Korea National Oil Corporation, related to investment in an overseas oilfield development project. Mr. Hong has been handling complex litigation regarding compensation and business transactions in a land appropriation case, along with numerous other white collar crime cases.
