Mr. Oh is a highly-recognized attorney in the area of antitrust/competition law in Korea. He has extensive experience in representing major Korean and global companies before the Korea Fair Trade Commission (“KFTC”), the Seoul High Court, the Supreme Court of Korea. During his work at the KFTC (1994-2002), he authored a variety of notices and guidelines for the Korea Monopoly Regulation and Fair Trade Act and a written history of the KFTC. Before establishing Hanlaw Law Office, he worked as a director of the litigation division of the KFTC, dealing with numerous cases on M&As, cartels, abuses of market-dominant position under the Korea Antitrust Act. Since establishing HanLaw LLC, he has successfully defended a wide range of high profile cartel participants and companies under investigation.

M&A:
Obtained permission for the M&A between leading brewery, Hite Breweries Ltd, and leading Korean traditional liquor producer, Jinro. Scale of M&A: USD 2billion; Mr. Oh applied diverse economic analysis for market definition and the market effects of the M&A.

Cartel defense:
Marine parcel tanker international shipping cartel, obtained a “case dismissed” verdict for Stolt-Nielsen
Drain pipe construction cartel, obtained complete exemption of surcharges as a leniency applicant for Kumho industries co.
Counsel for a Japanese executive during the KFTC investigation in the international cartel (bid-rigging, market allocation) in the Marine Hose industry.

Abuse of Monopolistic position:
Represented Tbroad Ltd., a multiple CATV system operator and program provider and the largest market-share holder in the Korea cable industry, before the Korea Supreme Court, winning the case on an abuse of monopoly position.
